Week 1, Assignment 1c

Hello All,
The two people that I would like to share information about are Dorothy Guajardo and Lizabeth.

First, I will talk about Dorothy. Dorothy is a Psychology major and hopes to transfer to SSU in the spring of 2009. She has a 22 year old son who attends SFSU as an International Business major. Dorothy was born and raised in San Francisco and moved to Petaluma in 1992. She currently works as a Real Estate Agent for Coldwell Banker Optima Realty.

The two things that I learned about Paulo Freire from Dorothy are:
1) He was improsioned as a traitor for 70 days due to his comapssion towards education.
2) Freire taught 300 farm workers to read in 45 days.

Now, let me tell you a little bit about Lizabeth. Lizabeth is a nursing major and plans to transfer to the University of San Francisco. She lives in Novato.

The two things that I learned from Lizabeth about Paulo Freire are:
1) Freire is considered " the most influential thinker about education in the late 20th century."
2) During his exile, he wrote Pedagogy of the Oppressed, in which he "examines the oppression people have suffered and how it has become justified.
